Job Summary:

The IT officer will provide technical support and assistance to the entire team to maintain and enhance the foundation’s IT infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with system upgrades and installations, and providing user support and training. The IT officer will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation’s IT systems and will contribute to the overall efficiency of the organization.


  1. Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  2. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
  3. Set up and configure user accounts, email accounts, and security settings.
  4. Monitor and respond to help desk tickets, providing timely resolutions to user inquiries and escalating issues when necessary.
  5. Conduct regular maintenance and updates on computer systems, including applying patches and security updates.
  6. Assist in the implementation of IT projects, including system upgrades and new software installations.
  7. Assist in the management of IT inventory, including tracking hardware and software assets.
  8. Provide basic training to end-users on IT systems, applications, and best practices.
  9. Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for future reference.
  10. Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement in IT systems and processes.
  11. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in technology and provide recommendations for system enhancements.
  12. Maintain and constantly update the organization’s website and e-library
  13. Handle composition, color, illustration, typography, and branding for projects.
  14. Setup Video Conferencing systems/Tools for meetings, events and projects (Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc).


  • Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and office productivity software.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Exchange Server, and other server administration tasks.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and DNS.
  • Front-end web development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Qualifications that are advantageous:

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g.JavaScript; HTML5; CSS;PHP; Web CMS) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles.
